Continuing Legal Education

The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law welcomes J.D. degree holders from any accredited law school to take individual courses at Catholic Law for University or Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit.

Legal practitioners who want to retool or add extra skills may take one or more upper-level courses. CUA Law offers a variety of courses in a wide range of practice areas, including securities law, international law, public policy, and communications law. Catholic University's upper-division courses offer something for practitioners at every stage of their careers.

Classes are offered at manageable times for busy practitioners. The school is conveniently located near the heart of Washington, D.C. on the Metrorail Red Line.

Combine CLE and LL.M Credit

Earned credit for advanced coursework can open new professional doors — and also apply toward a future Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree. When permitted, coursework may also apply toward CLE requirements.

How to Apply

The J.D. holder will need to complete the Courses for Practitioners application form and submit it to the Catholic Law Office of Admissions. Applications must be received at least four weeks before the course begins. For more information, call 202-319-5151.

Admission to individual courses will be granted on a space-available basis.
