Catholic Law's Project on Constitutional Originalism and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition (CIT) announced on August 22, 2022, its lineup of speakers for the fall 2022 semester. This will be the first semester of CIT’s speakers program, a core component of CIT. As previously announced, CIT's inaugural lecture will be delivered by Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr., in September 2022.

In an innovative approach to its speakers program, CIT will host half of its events on campus and half of its events at D.C.-area think tanks. This will allow CIT’s programming — which is primarily directed to legal scholars and law students — to reach a broader audience and bring more people into a conversation about the relationship between the Catholic intellectual tradition and American constitutionalism. Programming will consist of eight events, including events co-sponsored with The American Enterprise Institute, The Center for the Study of Statesmanship, The Georgetown Center for the Constitution, The Institute for Human Ecology, and The Thomistic Institute.

The fall’s speakers program will explore the relationship between originalism and natural law, judging and virtue, the Catholic intellectual tradition and the common law, morality and the administrative state, and other topics of theology, constitutional law, and philosophy.
