The Inaugural Cardinal Classic, took place on Saturday, October 13th from 1 pm - 4 pm at the CUA Softball Field. It was a great time for CUA Law students, faculty, staff, alumni, as well as family and friends. Umpire Marin Scordato was behind the plate calling the balls and strikes, meanwhile Coach Antonio Perez was on 1st and Coach Veryl Miles on 3rd. The faculty team was lead by an all-star lineup featuring: Professor Mark Rienzi, Professor Megan La Belle, Professor Roger Colinvaux, and Dean Katie Crowley. Game results are as follows:
Game 1: Team Burden Defeated Team Lamura
Game 2: Student Team Defeated the Alumni Team
Championship Game: Student Team Defeated the Faculty & Staff Team
Justin Trinity (2L) was named unanimous Tournament MVP after a 5 home run performance on the day.
"What a wonderful event. The spirit and the camaraderie of the participants and the spectators was exceptional. Dean Crowley did a fantastic job of bringing this excellent idea to life. I very much hope that it becomes a new tradition at the law school," Dean Scordato said.
