On Wednesday, May 22, the Law & Technology Institute Alumni Association (LTIAA) held its LTIAA Pay It Forward Award Ceremony and celebrated the Law & Technology Institute's (LTI) Class of 2024 graduates at Wiley Rein LLP in Washington, D.C. The Pay It Forward award honors a member of the LTIAA community who embodies the spirit of the LTIAA through their support of fellow alumni and law students. The evening opened with a networking reception with the past and new members of the LTIAA.
The 2024 LTIAA Co-President, Kelly Laughlin '22, Associate at Wiley, welcomed everyone and acknowledged the Class of 2024 members in attendance. Following the introductions of the other members of the LTIAA, Laughlin announced Patrick Halley '10, President & CEO at Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) and Lecturer at Catholic Law, as the recipient of the 2024 Pay It Forward award. She then introduced recent Catholic Law and LTI graduate Kayla Bushey '24 to share a few words about Halley.
Kayla opened her comments congratulating Patrick Halley again for his selection as the 2024 Pay It Forward award recipient and added, "Patrick embodies the generous spirit of Catholic’s alumni. He continues to give back to the LTI program in immeasurable ways through his Telecommunications Practicum and personal mentorship." When reflecting on the importance of LTIAA, Kayla closed with, "mentors like Patrick make this challenging time in students’ lives all the more manageable and rewarding, by providing a support system and serving as role models for who we can aspire to be." After the bar Kayla will be working for the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a Westin Fellow.
Following the award presentation the reception continued.
