The Columbus School of Law's Student Bar Association (SBA) presented a donation in the amount of $4,500 last month to benefit St. Ann's Center for Children, Youth, and Families, located nearby in Maryland. The funds were raised during last October's Crabfest, an annual fall event that invited students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends to come together on a stunning autumnal afternoon to enjoy one of the law school's largest events of the year, featuring food, live music, and outdoor activities; all with the shared goal of benefiting St. Ann's. Over the years, the law school's SBA has established and a close and supportive relationship with St. Ann's, supporting with money and volunteerism its mission of "recogniz[ing] and enhanc[ing] human dignity and worth by providing residential care and services to abused and neglected children and to single pregnant and parenting adolescents in crisis, as well as quality day care to the children of working families." On Feb. 9, 2015, Amanda Azarian, SBA President, and Alex Pacheco, SBA Vice President of Student Affairs, presented Sister Mary Bader (above, at left) with the proceeds from Crabfest. "Catholic University's Student Bar Association looks forward to future volunteer efforts on behalf of this wonderful organization," said Azarian.
