On October 17, 2018, a group of eighth grade students from San Miguel School visited CUA Law. Having never thought of becoming an attorney or visiting the law school, the students were given an introduction to the law school, its faculty, students, and staff.
The Program began with an introduction from CUA Law Dean Regina Jefferson and was followed by a student panel moderated by Dean of Students Katie Crowley '10. CUA Law students who participated included: Nicolas Valderrama (1L), Kenny Walters (2L), and Maria Natera (3L). The San Miguel students had the opportunity to ask questions about the law and learn what being in law school is like.
"When I was in law school I learned something new every single day, and I learned how to help people," Dean Crowley told the students.
The students also had the chance to participate in a moot court trial presented by Jennifer Brooker (3E) and Vania Smith (3E). Following the moot court, San Miguel students went on a tour of the law school and the library. The Program closed with lunch and a presentation by CUA Law library staff, Steve Young and Frances Brilliantine.
