On February 12, Catholic Law Professor Mary Graw Leary spoke at a Congressional Briefing, “Seeing Trafficking in 2020, Bringing Survivors into Focus.” Hosted by the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), the panel discussed the survivor experience in light of the 20th Anniversary of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) and what policy changes need to be implemented moving forward.
Professor Graw Leary joined panelists Eskinder Negash, President and CEO of USCRI and Evelyn Chumbow, Survivor and Anti Human Trafficking Activist. Catholic Law alumna, Kelly Ann Whelan ’17, who works as a policy analyst for USCRI was also present at the briefing.
