Catholic Law third-year Kelechi Eke was recently awarded the J. Franklyn Bourne Scholarship. The J. Frankly Bourne Bar Association, Inc. was founded in 1977 in honor of the Honorable J. Franklyn Bourne. Judge Bourne was one of the seven original judges selected to serve on the District Court for Prince George’s County, Maryland. The association recognizes Judge Bourne’s contributions to the practice of law in the State of Maryland. The J. Franklyn Bourne Scholarship is awarded to law students who “demonstrate financial need, academic achievement, and service to their community and school.
Eke shared, "I feel honored to be a recipient of this award because law school has been a life-changing experience, and I am excited to use my newly gained skills to continue to positively impact the stories of people in my community and beyond."
