Catholic Law third-year students Shala Barney and Garrett Tracey won this year’s 2021 Chief Judge Eugene Hamilton Moot Court Competition hosted by the Washington Bar Association and the Washington Bar Association Educational Foundation. The reigning champions held onto the title for the second year in a row and the duo also won Best Written Brief.
Following their win, Tracey shared, "I would just like to thank the Washington Bar Association, and the Washington Bar Association Educational Foundation, Inc. for putting together a challenging question and for the opportunity to compete. I would be remiss if I failed to mention that working with Shala for the past two years was certainly a highlight of my law school experience."
Barney added, "Thank you and I greatly appreciate all the opportunities for scholarship and mentorship the Washington Bar Association, and the Washington Bar Association Educational Foundation, Inc. provides for law students. I’d also like to thank Garrett who invited me to join him in the moot court competition!"
