On March 31, 2022, Mary Graw Leary, Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research and Professor of Law, participated in the Cardozo School of Law’s Arts & Entertainment Law Journal spring symposium. In two panels, speakers discussed “25 years of Section 230: Retain, Reform, or Repeal?,” reflecting on the current state of the internet today as a result of Section 230.
Graw Leary spoke on the first panel, focusing in particular on the issues surrounding child exploitation. She discussed the history of Section 230 and its connection to child protection — examining the child protective landscape from which it emerged and the promises its proponents made for child protection and compared those intentions to the present-day situation.
