The Decline of Judicial Independence in Europe: Is the U.S. on the Same Path? Jonathan McGowan, an attorney from Jacksonville, Florida, organized and moderated the panel for the American Bar Association International Law Annual Conference at the Capitol Hilton on April 28. Professor Wortham drew on her research on judicial independence in Poland with Fryderyk Zoll, professor at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, and the University of Osnabrück in Osnabrück, Germany. She and Professor Zoll are co-reporters with Shimon Shetreet of Hebrew University and Sophie Turenne of Cambridge University for the European Law Institute Project on ELI-Mount Scopus European Standards of Judicial Independence.
