Since the June 24 Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overruling Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, Elizabeth Kirk, Director of the Center for Law and the Human Person, has shared her reaction to the decision as well as the impact the decision will have.
Kirk shared in an interview with Vatican News, “The case is both monumental and also very simple. It simply holds that the US Constitution does not confer a right to abortion, and it doesn’t in any way shape what abortion policy should be hereafter. Rather, it returns the authority to regulate abortion to the people and their elected representatives.”
Kirk also wrote an essay, “Reflecting on the Impact of Dobbs,” for Crisis Magazine and co-authored an article, "Why the Dobbs decision won’t imperil pregnancy-related medical care," for SCOTUSblog with Dr. Ingrid Skop. Additionally, Kirk was included in a reaction roundup for the magazine and was also quoted by Aleteia and Our Sunday Visitor.
