Professor J. Joel Alicea's article, The Moral Authority of Original Meaning, was listed as the second-most downloaded new article of 2022 relating to originalism or textualism. The Originalism Blog posted the list, The Year in Review: Originalism-Oriented Articles of 2022, on January 12, 2023.

Professor Alicea is the Co-Director of the Project on Constitutional Originalism and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition (CIT), and his scholarship focuses on constitutional theory. Alicea's scholarship has appeared in the Virginia Law Review, Notre Dame Law Review, University of Pennsylvania Journal of Constitutional Law, and the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy, among other publications. He is also active in public debates about constitutional law, publishing essays in journals such as National Affairs and The Public Discourse.

The Originalism Blog, like many blogs, is intended to be a work in progress. Initially, the Blog focuses on three types of posts. First, the Blog posts the abstracts of papers on SSRN that involve originalism. Second, in a feature called "Originalism in the Blogs," they link to significant posts on originalism in other blogs. Finally, in a feature called "Originalism on the Web," the Blog links to pieces that discuss originalism in newspapers, magazines, and other sites. The Blog is a product of the Center for the Study of Constitutional Originalism at the University of San Diego School of Law.
