Professor Elizabeth I. Winston, Co-Director of the Law and Technology Institute at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law (Catholic Law), participated in a panel discussion at the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s Indo-Pacific Judicial Colloquium on Intellectual Property, Innovation, and Technology, on Tuesday, July 25. During the session, entitled “Law and Technology: What Lies Ahead for the Courts,” Winston was among six experts invited to speak on the subject of technological innovation and its regulation through the court system.
The Indo-Pacific Judicial Colloquium considers itself as the first of its kind to host a judicial gathering of judges from the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) partner countries. With well-known legal academics, IP experts and litigators, and other intellectual property and international trade stakeholders joining almost 80 foreign and U.S. judges for three days of collegial discussions, experience sharing, and remarks by notable jurists on cutting edge issues.
