  • Juan Alonso Tello Mendoza is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Columbus School of Law for the Fall term of 2023. He is a lecturer at the University of Barcelona and a member of the Study Group on Democracy and Constitutionalism there. His doctoral dissertation critically explored the "conventionality control" as a doctrine created and used by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. For that purpose, he was a visiting researcher at the University of Oxford (2019) and the University of Copenhagen (2018 & 2019), being sponsored as a LERU (League of European Research Universities) and Montcelimar Fellow. After obtaining his Ph.D. in Constitutional Law from the University of Barcelona, he became a 2022-2023 James Madison Program Postdoctoral Fellow (Princeton University). He holds an LLM in Human Rights from the University of Navarra and an LLB from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
