Students are strongly encouraged to apply to the Institute concurrently with their application to the Law School, as LTI is limited in size, and a class may fill before the beginning of the academic year. Each application is reviewed by the directors of the Institute and admission to the Institute is made on a rolling basis. Applicants are notified of their status by email.
The Institute's policy is to provide a quality educational experience for each student. This can be achieved best by limiting enrollment to ensure small classes and a favorable student-instructor ratio. Therefore, the Institute accepts no more than 25 students each year. In the event that space remains open in a class at the beginning of the academic year, students may apply to the Institute during their first or second year, provided they can complete the certificate requirements.
A link to the application for admission to the Law and Technology Institute is provided here. An application may also be obtained by contacting the Office of Institutes and Special Programs at Institutes@law.edu or by phone at 202-319-6081.
There are no additional fees associated with applying to or participating in the Law and Technology Institute.
