Alumni Council Purpose and Mission:

The Alumni Council of the Columbus School of Law serves the Dean and the School in building and fostering mutually beneficial relations between and among all stakeholders — students, faculty, administration, staff, alumni, and friends.

The Council is an advisory body, providing a valuable and reliable source of support and guidance to the Dean. While the Council is afforded a significant degree of access to the Dean and the officers of the University, it is not a governing body and is not a subsidiary or affiliate of the University or its Board of Trustees.

The Dean, the Law School, and the University derive significant and lasting value and benefit from Alumni Council members individually and collectively. The Council bears no responsibility for any action taken or omitted on the part of the School or the University. Members of the Council are not agents or fiduciaries of the School, the University or the BOT.

Members of the Council are invited by the Dean to serve on the Council in this advisory role to the Dean. The Council is created to assist with the advancement of the University’s and the School’s mission by providing outside knowledge and expertise, as well as philanthropic support.

The Council is guided by the inscription on the School building, “Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” The Council convenes at least twice a year. Members serve a three-year term.
