Justice H.F. Sparky Gierke

Justice H.F. Sparky Gierke III, 73, Bismarck, died Aug. 7, 2016, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with the Rev. Darrel Aleson officiating. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

In 2002 and 2004, Justice Gierke was honored as the Best Adjunct Faculty Member at the Columbus School of Law.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request memorials in Sparky's name be sent to the North Dakota American Legion Foundation (NDALF), P.O. Box 5057, West Fargo, N.D. 58078.
