The Kathryn J. DuFour Law Library is honoring Black History Month with a new exhibit, "African Americans in Times of War: An Exhibit Honoring CUA Law School Veterans." The exhibit features three CUA Law African American veterans, Latena Hazard (3D), Michael Pee (4E), and Jae Terry (2D). By recognizing these three veterans, the library hopes to give viewers some insight into military service and the sacrifices that service members make. The exhibit is located in the Law Library lobby.

The exhibit is a joint effort between the Black Law Students Association and the DuFour Law Library.

The theme, designated by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH), commemorates the centennial of the end of the First World War in 1918, and "provides a broad, useful framework for focusing on the roles of African Americans in every American war, from the Revolutionary War Era to that of the present War against Terrorism."

"I consulted the Library of Congress Veterans History Project for help with interviewing veterans about their service. I wanted to understand and convey the individuality of each veteran's personality and experiences. Latena, Jae, and Michael graciously shared their memories and impressions with me. I hope viewers of the exhibit learn as much as I did," Frances Brillantine, Head of Access Services, said.
