On October 5, the CUA Law community came together to make lunches for the homeless. #HashtagLunchbag is a humanity service movement dedicated to empowering and inspiring humanity to reap the benefits of giving through the use of social media. The organization seeks to create and use bagged lunches, complete with love messages, as a vessel to spread this love and share our experiences to inspire others.
The event was pulled together under the leadership of the CUA Black Law Students Association (BLSA), Students for Public Interest Law (SPIL), and The Democratic Law Students Association (DLSA). "This year the program was created almost entirely on donations from faculty, staff, and Trader Joe's. We made sandwiches and included fruit, chips, cookies, and notes to each lunch. Together we made over 100 lunches which were then distributed to some of the homeless populations in DC," Brittany McNurlin (3L) said.
