On February 22, 2019, during its regular session held at its headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, the Inter-American Juridical Committee (CJI) approved the "Guide on the Law Applicable to International Commercial Contracts in the Americas." The document acknowledges the contribution of CUA Law Professor Antonio Perez, a former CJI member, who served as an expert commentator in the drafting process.

The Inter-American Juridical Committee (CJI) is one of the principal organs of the Organization of American States (OAS). The Committee serves the Organization as an advisory body on juridical matters to promote the progressive development and codification of international law and to study the possibility of standardizing legislation across the countries of the Hemisphere.
