On June 8, 2019, a group of CUA Law students, alumni, and staff participated in the Annual Lawyers Have Heart 10k Race, 5K Run and Fun Walk at the Washington Harbour in Georgetown. Team members included: Darrel Allen, April Currey, Doug Rubenstein, Josh Borneman, Anna Wiedemer, Tonya Gaskins, David Horner, Rachel Lawrence, Alexandra Mack, Bryan McDermott, Stuart Schept, Kiva Zytnick, Tamara Smith, and Colby (Gaskins' daughter).

The event raises money for the research and community education programs of the greater Washington, D.C., region affiliate of the American Heart Association. The event brings together law firms, in house counsel, government attorneys, legal vendors, residents, parents, children and athletes of all levels of experience, to raise awareness and public consciousness regarding heart disease and stroke.
