Catholic University strives to be a welcoming home to undergraduate and graduate students alike. But as many of you know, students rarely have the same affinity for their graduate schools as they do for their undergraduate school.
Attending night classes at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, Jeffrey Moreland, J.D. 1970, could have earned his degree and moved on to the next stage of his career. But through the years, he came to understand what makes Catholic University so special. We are privileged to have him serve on the Board of Trustees and as the chairman of the University’s Finance Committee.
After earning his Juris Doctor degree, Moreland embarked on an impressive career. After eight years with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, he moved to the Santa Fe Pacific Corporation, where he rose a senior vice president position. With the BNSF Railway, he served as the executive vice president. Currently, he serves as the vice chairman of the Amtrak Board of Directors, as well as the chairman of the Audit Committee, and he is a member of the Board of Trustees and chairman of the Nominating and Governance Committee for the Friends of Florence, Italy.
On Friday, April 12, 2019, we presented Mr. Moreland with an Alumni Achievement Award. Please join us in congratulating him for his incredible work as an alumnus of The Catholic University of America. Thank you, Jeffrey Moreland, for leading government and private sector industries with the kinds of values that we hold dear.
