Lauren Huston, a rising 3L, commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps on Monday, July 8th in the United States Capitol. Ms. Huston's former employer, Senator John Thune, administered her Oath of Office. In addition to family and friends gathered for the ceremony, Ms. Huston was joined by some faculty and several classmates from the Columbus School of Law whom she thanked for their support throughout law school.
After completing the bar exam, Ms. Huston will attend Officer Development School and Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island. She will then begin her first tour as a JAG officer with rotations in legal assistance, command services, and military justice.
An active member of the class of 2020, Ms. Huston serves as Lead Articles Editor on the Catholic University Law Review.
