At the Catholic University of Colombia's Conference on Private International Law held in Bogota, Colombia, on October 23, 2019, Professor Anotnio Perez lectured in Spanish on U.S. common law and statutory protections of privacy. The lecture covered how they may conflict with, and could be harmonized with, other policy objectives, ranging from competition law and consumer protection to national security law.
On October 24, he debated an EU privacy law expert on the relative advantages and disadvantages of the U.S. and European Union approaches to privacy protection.
