Catholic Law Professor Mark Rienzi was a panelist at the recent Jewish Leadership conference in New York City organized by the Tikvah Fund. The conference was a day long event with several breakout sessions and drew in over 1,000 people. The panel entitled, “Religious Freedom and the Courts”, was moderated by Daniel Mark of Villanova, a former commissioner from the US Commission on International Religious Freedom. Professor Rienzi joined Judge Neomi Rao of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, to discuss the importance of religious liberty for all people and the importance of dialogue and cooperation between different groups. In particular, Professor Rienzi spoke about the current state of religious liberty law and cases that the Supreme Court is likely to take up in the future.
Other speakers at the Jewish Leadership Conference included Henry Kissinger, Rabbi Meir Soleveichik, Roger Hertog, and Norman Podhoretz.
