Catholic Law Alumnus and Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Brendan Carr ’05, was honored at The Phoenix Center’s 19th Annual U.S. Telecoms symposium “Keeping Pace with Dynamic Industries” held on December 3, 2019. Carr was presented with the Jerry B. Duvall Public Service Award for his political courage. Carr also gave the keynote remarks at the event. In his address, he spoke of the importance of telecoms infrastructure as the country moves into a 5G world as well as the duty of the FCC to bring freshness to competition policy.
Carr has served as Commissioner of the FCC since his confirmation in 2017 and is serving a five-year term.
