In anticipation of Election Day 2024, the Law & Public Policy (LPP) and Compliance, Investigations, and Corporate Responsibility (CICR) programs at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law (Catholic Law) hosted a panel of election law experts on Monday, October 30, to discuss the ways in which campaign managers and legal counsel work to run their respective candidates’ electoral initiatives in line with compliance and ethics standards. The evening event, entitled “Campaign 2024 and Compliance: Setting Up and Running Your Candidate’s Multi-Million Dollar Business,” featured Susan Finkle Sourlis ’00, Senior Counsel at Affiliated Organizations; former Federal Election Commission head Michael Toner, now a partner at Wiley Rein LLP; and LPP director Brian G. Svoboda, partner at Perkins Coie LLP. Held in the Walter A. Slowinski Courtroom, the panel discussion was introduced by Herman Pablo (’24) and Brynn Reese (’25) and moderated by Professor Sarah Duggin, director of CICR.
Following the panel presentation, the audience had an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists. Those present entered into a spirited discussion that continued during the post-panel reception in the Louise H. Keelty and James Keelty, Jr. Atrium.
