The Catholic Law community took a pause in their day for a few minutes to share in the lighting of the Columbus School of Law's Christmas tree in the building's atrium on November 29. The event opened with a prayer and blessing from Rev. Hugh Vincent Dyer, O.P., followed by Dean Stephen Payne lighting the tree. Following the lighting of the tree, students were invited to a reception where they mingled with faculty and staff.
This year the reception also included a gingerbread house competition. Each of the four teams – 1L, 2L, 3L, and Evening – were supplied a gingerbread house kit and given 30 minutes to complete their house. Once time was up and after some serious deliberation by Susan Smith Newell, Assistant Dean for Admissions & Dean of First-Year Students, the Evening Students team was chosen as the winner.
