Professor Mark L. Rienzi of The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law (Catholic Law) was quoted by Law360 in an October 23 article regarding a district court judge’s recent blocking of Colorado state legislation that had banned the prescription of drugs capable of reversing medication abortions. The article quotes Rienzi in his capacity as counsel for Bella Health and Wellness, “a nonprofit faith-based Catholic medical clinic.”

Judge Temporarily Blocks Colorado’s “Abortion Reversal” Ban
. . .
A Colorado federal judge has temporarily blocked a law that barred medical professionals from prescribing an "abortion pill reversal" drug after a Roman Catholic medical practice argued that the law infringed upon its First Amendment rights.
. . .
Bella Health's counsel Mark L. Rienzi of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty told Law360 on Monday that he was happy with Judge Domenico’s ruling because Colorado’s law is “mean to women who need help” and “unscientific.”
“The unfortunate truth is that some people are forced to take abortion pills; some people are tricked to take abortion pills; some people willingly take abortion pills and then change their minds,” Rienzi said. “Whatever the reason, those women ought to be entitled to the same types of help that any other woman is entitled to.”
