Mark L. Rienzi, law professor and co-director of the Center for Religious Liberty at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law (Catholic Law), was quoted by Brooklyn diocese’s newspaper The Tablet on March 19, 2024, in an article discussing the U.S. Supreme Court’s decline to hear an appeal submitted by an Indiana couple represented by public interest firm with which Rienzi is affiliated as senior counself, the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty. Rienzi’s quote is a paraphrase of comments he made previously in a blog post uploaded to “Mirror of Justice,” a project of the University of Notre Dame’s Program on Church, State & Society.
