Catholic Law's Professor Mary Graw Leary testified on Thursday, April 11, before the a subcommittee of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce during a public hearing examining and reform to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act of 1996. Graw Leary has written extensively on this Act and is a leading scholar on Section 230. She was invited to testify about how Section 230 harms children, particularly with the use of generative artificial intelligence, and how Congress should conisder amending Section 230.
