Jason Kellogg (4E), a law student at Catholic Law and an accomplished chef, has been appointed to the Food Policy Council (FPC) in Washington, DC. In this capacity, he will tackle food policy issues affecting all DC residents, aiming to empower others to foster meaningful change. Jason's unique blend of culinary expertise and legal knowledge positions him exceptionally well for this role, as he offers a profound, hands-on understanding of the food industry. His passion for food policy was sparked during his time at Catholic Law, particularly in the Environmental Justice class led by Professor Alexandra Dunn, whose mentorship was instrumental in his appointment. This voluntary position highlights Jason's dedication to positively impacting his community, as he utilizes his dual perspectives as a chef and a law student to advocate for more equitable and sustainable food systems.
The DC Food Policy Council is a coalition of public and government food leaders appointed by Mayor Muriel Bowser to create a just, healthy, equitable and sustainable food system for all by engaging, empowering, and informing DC residents and effecting positive policy change.
