The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law is pleased to host the 2025 Capital Area Legal Writing Conference on Friday, May 30, and Saturday, May 31. Faculty are invited to connect with peers at our beautiful campus in the nation’s capital.

Call for Presentation Proposals

We are seeking proposals for 25-minute and 50-minute presentations on topics pertaining to legal writing, lawyering skills, and pedagogy. A presentation may be structured as an individual presentation or a group presentation. All members of the legal writing community are invited to submit proposals; out-of-town presenters and first-time presenters are welcome!

Conference History

The Capital Area Legal Writing Conference began in 2011 at The George Washington University Law School. The Conference has also been hosted previously by The Georgetown University Law Center; American University Washington College of Law; University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law and Howard University School of Law; William & Mary Law School; University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law; and Regent University School of Law.
