Columbus Community Legal Services (CCLS) is dedicated to representing low-income clients in a wide variety of civil matters. CCLS does not handle criminal matters.
You may call our office to determine if you are eligible for our services. If we are unable to assist you with your legal matter, we will provide you with information about other legal service providers in the area.
The clinic does not have any type of “walk-in” consultation services and does not provide legal advice over the phone.
All cases are handled by students and are closely supervised by licensed attorneys. Our ability to take your case largely depends upon the time of year and student enrollment. Client intake usually occurs in September and January. If your case does not conclude before students complete their time at CCLS, CCLS may transfer your case to another team of students.
Fees
CCLS offers legal services free of charge to income-eligible clients. However, you may be responsible for court costs and other case-related expenses. CCLS will inform you and gain your approval before incurring any expenses.
Directions
CCLS is located at the Catholic University of America’s campus in Washington, D.C. For those traveling on the Washington Metro Rail system, take the Red Line to the Brookland/CUA station. Exit the station towards Catholic University and turn right down John McCormack Rd. After a fifth of a mile, the Law School building will be located on your left.
