The purpose of exit counseling is to be sure borrowers have an opportunity to review their rights and responsibilities with respect to federal student loans. Exit counseling provides borrowers an opportunity to review repayment options including loan forgiveness programs.
Exit counseling may be provided by the school, or through an approved website. Catholic Law is happy to provide exit counseling on an in-person basis. Contact the Financial Aid Office to arrange an appointment.
Exit counseling is required when one of the following is about to occur or has occurred: 1. The student graduates 2. The student withdraws from school 3. The student drops below half-time enrollment (six credit hours)
Students are encouraged to contact the Financial Aid Office at any time they have questions or concerns.
Before beginning exit counseling, students are encouraged to review their student loan history at NSLDS.
