On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, President Joe Biden announced several nominees to serve in key roles. Among those announced was Catholic Law alumna Summer Mersinger ’07, who was named as one of two nominees for Commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Mersinger has over 17 years of federal government service, including the last two years at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission where she served as chief of staff to Commissioner Dawn D. Stump and as the director of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs.
