On July 15, 2021, American Enterprise Institute (AEI) announced that Catholic Law Professor J. Joel Alicea has joined AEI as a nonresident fellow where he will be focusing on constitutional theory and constitutional law. Catholic Law alumnus William Haun ’12, counsel at the Becket Fund, has also joined AEI nonresident fellow studying constitutionalism, religious liberty, First Amendment issues, and self-government.
Both Alicea and Haun will be part of a new AEI initiative, the Center for American Constitutional Governance, which has been created to restore the integrity and order of the American constitutional system, with an emphasis on the proper roles of Congress, the executive, and the courts; a renewal of federalism; and a rekindled understanding of citizenship, civil society, and republican virtue.
