On May 10, 2022, The Catholic University of America hosted its Staff Excellence Awards Ceremony in honor of the meritorious contributions faculty and staff have made to the life of the University. From among a university-wide group of staff and administrators, Katherine Gamelin Crowley ’10, Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Dean of Students for the Law School, was selected for the University's Student Impact Award.
Crowley has been a pillar for the Law School throughout her time here and has especially dedicated herself to her work during the past year helping to guide the school through its response to the pandemic while taking on many additional responsibilities to support students. She is invested in creating the best experience possible for law students — handling obstacles with grace and patience. Crowley provides guidance and support and does everything she can to reach students.
Her colleague Heather Doerr, Associate Director of Student Life and Special Events, shared in response to Crowley's award, “On a personal note, Katie has gone from being my Dean of Students when I was a law student to my boss, mentor, and friend. She has made an indelible impact on my life and I will be forever grateful for her presence in my life. I am a better person because I know her.”
The Student Impact Award is presented to a staff member who has gone above and beyond to positively impact the quality of life of students at Catholic University through access, resources, mentorship, or service.
