Lalla Maiga, a dedicated fourth-year evening student at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law (Catholic Law) was featured by the D.C. Bar’s Washington Lawyer magazine. The piece spotlights Maiga’s participation in Finnegan’s IP Summit, an initiative aimed at introducing law students from historically underrepresented groups to IP law and practice, underscoring the importance of mentorship to the legal profession.
Originally from Mali, Maiga, brings a rich educational background with degrees in computer science & mathematics and information systems to a decades-long career in e-discovery and litigation support. Despite initial self-doubt about her place in law school, encouragement from a mentor propelled her to take a chance on the LSAT, bringing her to Catholic Law, and later to the IP Summit program. Now, as she approaches her graduation in May, Maiga exemplifies resilience and determination, expertly balancing a rigorous academic program while raising a family and juggling a full-time career.
