Governor Gavin Newsom’s office announced on Friday the appointment of Catholic Law alumna Chandra Reid '01 as a San Diego Superior Court judge. A seasoned legal professional, Reid brings extensive experience to the role, having served as a superior court commissioner since 2021.

Prior to her current position, Reid dedicated 16 years to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor (2005–2021) and spent three years as a deputy city attorney in the San Diego City Attorney’s Office (2001–2004). Her appointment reflects a career marked by commitment and excellence in public service.
