Catholic Law’s National Mock Trial Team has been recognized as among the best in the nation.

The National Mock Trial Team consists of talented, intelligent, and dedicated students with a strong interest in trial advocacy. Students that earn the privilege to represent the law school at trial competitions test their skills against law students from around the country, advocating in simulated civil and criminal jury trials. The team has a history of excellence at these competitions and won the 2019 National Trial Competition.

National Mock Trial Team members are selected each spring during a highly competitive tryout that tests their reasoning ability, judgment, and oral advocacy, and which culminates with either an opening statement or closing argument delivered to a jury. Members selected to compete in trial competitions are actively coached by both faculty and respected alumni, including local prosecutors, public defenders, and civil litigators.
