From L to R: Hali Woods, Alexandra Van Cleef, Amy Trivison, and Katiah-Lavahnna Scott
Hali Woods (2L) has started her career on Catholic Law’s National Mock Trial Team with a splash. She took the top individual advocacy award at this year’s Premiere Trial Competition, which was hosted by Drexel Law School in Philadelphia, PA. The tournament has a unique format, inviting only first-time mock trial competitors to participate in four rounds of courtroom competition, judged exclusively by mock trial faculty and coaches. At the awards ceremony, Hali Woods was recognized as the best advocate among approximately forty students at the tournament.
Woods and her teammates, Katiah-Lavahnna Scott (3L), Amy Trivison (3L), and Alexandra Van Cleef (3L) delivered a strong team performance, securing 5th place in a highly competitive field. “Competing at the Premier and representing Catholic Law was such an honor! I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to go up against, and learn from, other first-time competitors and their coaches along the East Coast,” shared Woods.
Director Lindsey Cloud expressed her pride in the team, stating, “We are thrilled with Hali’s impressive start this semester, giving us plenty to celebrate right out of the gate. Coaching this group has been such a joy, and we’re looking forward to seeing big things from all our new members in the spring!”
