Monica Allston joined the Columbus School of Law in 2023. As Associate Director for Career and Professional Development, she is responsible for assisting students as they develop the skills needed to obtain their first legal jobs as students and after graduation. She provides students with resume reviews, mock interviews and educational programming. Additionally, she focuses on identifying judicial clerkship opportunities for students and assists them with the application process.
Monica received her BA in Journalism from Loyola University of Maryland and her JD from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Following law school, she clerked for the Hon. Ann S. Harrington of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland. She then spent several years in private practice, specializing in insurance defense litigation. She and her husband Doug (who is also a Catholic Law alumnus) have three children, two dogs, and one cat.
